To be successful in school and to receive the grades your child deserves, they need:
-
To feel a sense of satisfaction and to know that "I can do this and I'm in control."
-
To be aware of each and every assignment and when it is due.
-
To understand the teacher's expectations for the assignments.
-
To know where their school assignments are.
-
To remember to turn these assignments in when they are finished.
-
To get the graded assignments home.
That's it! Let's not complicate things. Let's simply strive for success. Give your student homework tools they can work with. The homework help that they can truly use. The products we carry are based on "macro organizational" techniques. Helping your student learn these new, developmentally appropriate, easy to learn, concepts will do all of the above and truly change their life in the process.
For a minute, I want you to think about how your child responds when you tell them, "Go clean your room."
To start with, you will get the usual list of responses, then they will reluctantly go up to their room and spend the better part of 40 days getting very little done.
Your choices for their success are two-fold: You can physically go up to the room and guide them through the cleaning process, or, rather than saying "Go clean your room." a blanket statement, you can give him specifics. "David, go bring all your dirty clothes down here."
When that is accomplished, you can give another specific request: "Now I want you to go make your bed...", when that is done, the next specific, go...
Now to clean a room, there are many individual tasks, to graduate from high school, there are also many individual tasks, however, they are not requested to be done at the same time.
The question to ask is "How can I break down school into comfortable pieces so my child can not just survive, but thrive?"
Here's what Macro Organizers has done. Instead of expecting a student to conform to the majority of educators who are in the pursuit of "organizing" their students, giving them micro-organizing tools that are simply ineffective and not developmentally appropriate we have thrown all that out the window.
Let's start from square one. Think outside the box. That's what your student does naturally. Let's figure out what is important. Let's figure out what it takes to help your student get through school. Let's take this and throw everything else away. Let's help them get "macro-organized." Focus on the important stuff. The rest will take care of itself.
The MAC, which is short for macro-organizer, includes just what is needed for success in the classroom. No extra charts, facts, etc. It is also very complete, including everything that is needed for success.
